What this is

Absurdity Engine — a modern-day single-panel comic strip for the machine-learning era.

The running joke:

Bleeding-edge, enterprise-grade AI gets deployed to "fix" basic, low-stakes problems that were already solved by a pen, a spreadsheet, or a two-second conversation. The comedy isn't about AI being bad — it's the sheer disproportion between the effort and the task.

New panel every day, same cast, weekends included.

Dwayne headshot

Dwayne

Earnest, well-meaning, and always one step behind whatever just got automated. He asks the question everyone in the meeting is quietly thinking but too nervous to say out loud. He wants to trust the process. The process keeps giving him reasons not to.

Brianna headshot

Brianna

Sharpest person in the room and she knows it. Sees through the nonsense in about half a second and has the punchline loaded before you've finished the sentence. Dry, witty, unbothered, and always the one who says the thing out loud that ends the scene.

R-AI

The AI in every joke, given a face. Silent, ever-present, and a little unsettling in how calmly it goes along with whatever absurd instruction it's just been handed — the ghost in the machine, holding up the sign that says the quiet part out loud.
